Online Mountaineer Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod (Long) Tripod Legs

This “long” version of the Gitzo Mountaineer Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod sports all the features of the standard height 4-section version and adds that little bit of extra height you need for your photography. Best used with professional cameras with 300-400m lenses, this model reaches up to 70.1” and can still go down to as low 6.3”, ensuring you do not lose access to low angle photography. The added height also does not come at the cost of portability, as the long Series 3 Mountaineer still weighs only 4.3 lbs. and folds up to 23.2” for storage. It also possesses the same Gitzo G-lock Ultra leg system, removable center column, and built in hook for stabilizing weights that the normal-height model offers. When you need just that little bit extra, this long model is the perfect option.

The Gitzo Mountaineer Series 3 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a long 4-section, Series 3 tripod designed to reach eye-level when fully extended. The G3542L is recommended for professional cameras with 300mm lenses (up to a maximum of 400mm). Thanks both to their new design and to the use of Carbon exact tubes, Series 3 Mountaineer tripods are lighter in weight yet more rigid than their predecessors. Top leg section diameter of 32.9mm.

The center column on the tripod can be removed for Ground Level Set up to lowest height of 6.3 inches. Its four-section legs are secured with twist locks that incorporate G-lock Ultra, which has an internal O-ring to prevent dust and particles from entering the leg system. A ballast hook on the center column allows you to add weight to increase the tripod’s stability.

• This built-in accessory allows you to hang a stabilizing weight (e.g. a full camera bag or a sand/water bag) from the bottom of the tripod center column. Useful with long/heavy lenses, on uneven ground or in windy conditions.

• Revolutionary Carbon exact tubes are even stiffer to maximize rigidity and image stability. Carbon exact optimizes the fiber composition for each tube size, using HM (High Modulus) carbon fiber in the narrower tubes to make them stiffer. The tube diameters are also optimized: the final leg section of a 4 section Series 1 tripod is now 22.5% thicker than its predecessor.
• Our G-lock system has been redesigned from the inside out; G-lock Ultra is smoother and softer to use, and is designed to reduce dust and grit from getting in.
• Completely redesigned for faster operation, this Ground Level Set mechanism permits to remove the center column to get the camera closer to the ground. A single simple unlocking ring under the column’s upper disc frees the column while keeping the upper disc solidly in place on the tripod (Patent Pending).
• Offers large grip space and features a built-in spring to help speed up switches between the 3 leg angles.
